Notagallery Interviews
The Notagallery interview series documented ten artists exhibiting work at the gallery’s *Art Embassy* exhibition. In collaboration with the gallery manager, we developed a brief covering both content and execution. From a content perspective, the brief was to explore each artist’s interpretation of the exhibition’s themes, namely the theme of borders. In regard to execution, the brief was to produce videos that felt sleek and editorial, matched the high-end aesthetic of the Berlin art space, and brought attention to both the exhibition and its artists.
The nine selected artists were chosen to ensure a wide thematic appeal as well as to optimise engagement. For example, we included bondage artist Anna Bengard for her unique perspective, providing balance to the series’ discourse. On the other hand, to ensure strong engagement and bring attention to artists with smaller profiles, we interviewed figures such as Sven Marquardt, influencer Vivian Benard, and the blog *Notes of Berlin*. Between these three artists, they have over 700k followers on Instagram, our targeted release platform. This meant we developed the interviews and visual style in accordance with the type of content already being engaged with on their pages, ensuring we addressed topics that mattered to their audiences.
The results of this project can be evaluated through several metrics. In terms of engagement, the seven interviews released by the gallery gained over 83k views with strong audience interaction. This impact met the expectations of the gallery and helped generate attention for its events. Notably, Berlin influencer Vivian Benard’s interview was released alongside promotion for a wine party, as it was anticipated that her audience would be most likely to engage with this event. The event was eventually attended by over 500 people.
In terms of less clearly defined impact, the gallery expressed strong satisfaction with the series, citing its clean aesthetic and insightful artistic perspectives as being of great value to the gallery’s reputation as a serious artistic institution.
Overall, considering the limited budget resulted in series being produced solely by me, the reach and quality of the content feels like it far out matched investment and easily meets the brief set by the gallery.
